we had the pleasure of finally having time ro hit up Target 1st saturdays this month
the treat was, the venue (the Brooklyn Museum)
was showing an Exhibit of work from the legendary Andy Warhol!
so you KNOW we had to go check it out!
What's first saturdays??
well it's a event held at the Brooklyn Museum when admission to the museum is FREE (after 5 pm)
and there are tons things to do & see, including many exhibit specific activities for kids and adults
topped off by a HUGE dance party outside
and a massive Karaoke party inside!!
next to the Warhol exhibit the LIVE music was the draw this month,
with live performances by 2 amazing brooklyn bands
Analogue Transit is a genre blending electronic/analog duo from Brooklyn,
Kwaku Aning on Vocals and Guitar & Jeff Shreiner on the production
these guys were amazing, we already have their green EP (available on itunes)
their tune Great Jones is an INCREDIBLE song
It was an amazing set with GREAT songs and it set good vibes for the crowd!!
then Dynasty Electric hit the stage.. electric was definitely right word to describe this performance, high energy would be another 2 words..
Dynasty Electric is an electronic rock band also from Brooklyn,
featuring lead singer and theremin player Jenny Electrik
and guitarist/saxophonist/producer Seth Misterka.
the crowd was energized and engaged!!
Jenny playing the theremin!!! Loved that!!
The Warhol exhibit was fantastic. showing work from warhols late period late 70's early 80's
including some of my favorite pieces from him
Warhol's Eggs
Warhol's Yarn
once we made it to the museum, we jumped on line to pick up free tickets to see a screening of
the film "I shot Andy Warhol" that was showing upstairs
as usual we had a GREAT time, saw a lot of good friends and made some new ones.
our good friend Al who helps throw this amazing event (minority report)
if he says "I'm throwing something" you better make plans to be there!!
